The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh has been divided between father and son. The battle is now for the party symbol: cycle. Who will ride bicycle? Akhilesh Yadav or Netaji? Akhilesh camp is reported to make its claim on the party symbol. Ram Gopal Yadav is reported to reach Election Commission at 11 am. Mulayam has already visited the Commission on Monday. Meanwhile, the reconciliation effort is also on between father and son. And again Azam Khan has taken the responsibility of taking CM and Mulayam together. Azam is in Delhi with some reconciliation formula. But, there has not been any confirmation that Mulayam has met with Azam or has returned to Lucknow without holding a meeting with Azam.
Azam will Broker a Peace Deal?
Several party workers are reported to appeal Azam to broker a compromise between the two. Azam said that the last time he will do his utmost to bring the warring groups together. As per the new formula that Azam has, Mulayam may have to forgo some of his favourites, and same is on the card for the son, Akhilesh. The two sides are against each other in the Election Commission, but reconciliation effort is also in the full swing to prevent what now seems to be quite inevitable.
Revelation of Kirnmay Nanda
Meanwhile the close confidante of Mulayam, Kiranmay Nanda, who was expelled by Netaji has revealed that the two papers issued on 01st January has different signs claiming to be that of MSY. The statement has invoked fresh tussle in the party. It is important to know that on 1st January the faction led by CM had organized a national convention in Lucknow at Janeshwar Park and Akhilesh was unanimously elected the President of the Party in that convention. Though just hour hour before the convention had started, Mulayam had called this Convention Unconstitutional. Netaji also expelled Nanda and Naresh Aggrawal from his party declaring himself as the De Facto President. Now, there has a twist in the event after this allegation of Nanda.
Mulayam Meets EC
On Monday, Mulayam Singh Yadav met the officials of the Election Commission and asserted his claim on the symbol of the party: cycle. Before heading to the Commission he, along with his brother Shivpal, held meeting with his old friends Amar Singh, Jaya Prada and Amibika Chaudhary. After the meeting Mulayam, Amar Singh, Shivpal Yadav and Jaya Prada went to the Election Commission with their complaints. As per the reports, Mulayam expressed his anguish and displeasure before the Commission and brief about the latest development in Samajwadi Party. Mulayam reportedly said to the Commission that the convention called by Ram Gopal on 01st January was unconstitutional as he along with his son Akhilesh were no longer the member of his Samajwadi Party. Mulayam also made his claim on the party symbol: cycle.
Present not Definite Future Imperfect?
In the flip-flop of events of the Samajwadi Party, nothing seems to be good for its fture. As the morning shows the day, the present turmoil in the party will definitely not augur will for its prospects in the election that is scheduled to be held in the month of February-March. Though nothing can be said with absolute certainty, but one thing that is quite clear that if the party does not wriggle out of the situation it is for now, it may have to pay heavy price for the electorates of UP do not want “Dangal” but “Mangal”.
